Important Day for Church Leaders in Liberia. All District & Branch Presidencies & Clerks receive MLS Training

Up until now, all Church membership and branch financial records had to be done on paper and sent by pouch mail to the Area Office in Accra. Now each branch and district has their own computer and is connected to the Church's MLS system. Records can be instaneously updated and received. This makes clerks' jobs so much easier and helps ensure that current, accurate records are instantly accessible. Training was provided by Area Office personnel from Ghana.

Inside our new apartment. Both our computers behind us in our "office."

Dining room. Notice the lovely kitchen maiden poking her head through the pass-through window to the kitchen.
Kitchen, also showing the pass-through window from the kitchen-side. The gas stove is powered by cans of gas which we must have refilled when they run out. Judy LOVES the large refrigerator! Notice the food processor which we lugged over here - and are glad of it!

Gate to our compound where we live in Monrovia. Barbed wire around the top of securred compounds is common everywhere.

Standing in front of "Armondo" (Nissan truck) - which is dying (and we hope will be replaced soon!) and the Ford truck. Notice "MISSIONARY" painted on the front (and back) of the trucks.
This is the back wall of our compound showing the barbed wire and broken glass on the top of the wall.

Fixing flat tire. Discovered tire had a 3 inch split - unrepairable. Fortunately happened over night while parked inside our compound.

Got lots of help from neighbors in our compound to figure out how to lower the spare tire.
Using air compressor Cousin Bill gave us for just such occasions. Had to go to 3 tire shops to find the right size tire. Had to buy 2 new tires.

The Goldens are in Liberia doing on their own for 3 months, volunteering their expertise (neo-natal physician and she's an RN) at a local hospital. They examined all the children at the orphanage.
